Summer Outfits

It’s the summer time, which means it’s time to bust out those shorts and sandals from your closet – if you haven’t been wearing them year round already like some of us.  But alas, some of us may be having trouble picking out the right outfit or just need a little inspiration to change up their wardrobe.  Well, to help you out a little, I have here some of my top summer outfits you can’t go wrong with.  (And even better, they’re affordable!)

Floral Rompers

There’s just something about floral prints and the summer time that go well together.  You might even find that a majority of my wardrobe contain floral prints, but one of my favorite ways to wear them is on a romper.  What I love most about rompers is that they’re one piece – you don’t have to dig through your drawers to find shorts to go with your top.  They’re just so convenient and look great no matter what.

I was able to find this romper at Ross for – I want to say $9 – if I remember correctly.  Also, the shoes are from Target for $25, which in my opinion is a little pricey considering my limit for shoes is $20 a pair.  But, I have had these shoes for years now, probably about 4 years?  So it’s not a bad investment.

Also, accessorizing rompers I find to be real easy.  I kept this look plain and simple with just a necklace that was a gift, but you can get creative with your own outfit!

Batwing Top & Strawberry Shorts

SS1

What do you think of when you think of summer?  Does it involve water balloon fights or BBQs?  Because when I think of summer I usually think of strawberries!  Think about it, nice cold strawberries are a great refreshing snack to cool off for the day.  And there’s nothing better than a glass of strawberry lemonade.  Even better, frozen strawberry lemonades.  But I’m not here to talk about food.  I’m here to talk about outfits.  More importantly, I’m here to show you these shorts.  Strawberry shorts.  If you remember correctly, I wore these on my picnic at Griffith Park with a bunch of my friends last summer.  Like I said, summer time to me means strawberries.  That includes adding strawberries to your wardrobe.

This outfit was actually 100% free since the shirt is a hand-me-down from my older sister, and the shorts are a gift from my old roommate.  Also, my boyfriend bought me these shoes too.  So in total I spent $0 on this outfit!  Just a little reminder that clothes as presents aren’t that bad if you know the person’s style.

Crochet Tank & Tulle Skirt

There is nothing more fun than walking around the park in a tulle skirt.  It honestly makes me feel like I’m in an enchanted forest with fairies.  Plus, it’s summer and it’s hooot!  What’s so great about tulle skirts is that they feel light and fluffy, and I’m always for wearing lighter clothing on a hot day.

This top is from Forever 21 and is also a hand-me-down from my sister.  The skirt is also from Forever 21, however I got this on sale online for $8!  Shoes are from Ross, which I got for $16.  The most expensive part of this outfit is actually the bracelet which I got as a gift from my boyfriend when we visited Cambria.  So technically, the bracelet didn’t cost me anything.

Hope some of these outfits inspire you to get creative with your wardrobe this summer and also remind you that you don’t need to spend a fortune to look good.

Yours Truly,

Sally Hyroad
